Our practice areas
Separation and family law
Family law includes legal guidance regarding divorce, alimony, custody, and the division of assets. A divorce lawyer guides you through the entire legal process – from initial advice to the implementation of agreements. More about divorce and family law.
International Family Law
International family law governs legal issues involving multiple countries – due to nationality, place of residence, or marriage abroad. An international family law lawyer assesses which law applies and which court has jurisdiction. More about international family law.
Inheritance Law
Inheritance law governs the distribution of an estate after death, the validity of a will, and the position of heirs. An inheritance law lawyer provides oversight and guidance in cases of conflict, disinheritance, and liability. More about inheritance law.
Change First Name in The Netherlands
In the Netherlands, a change of first name is a judicial petition procedure open to both adults and minors. More about the procedure, requirements, and costs can be found on the page changing first name.
Een eerste gesprek: intake, advies of second opinion
At Simmelink Lawyers, you choose how you begin.
Intake interview
During an intake consultation, we open a file and start the legal guidance. The lawyer who assists you knows your case from the first meeting until completion. After your registration, our secretariat will contact you within one business day. Schedule an intake.
Consultation
An advisory consultation provides insight into your legal position, the possible routes, and what you can expect. No file is opened. If you require further guidance after the consultation, we will discuss that. Schedule an advisory consultation.
Second Opinion
For those who have already received advice or are involved in an ongoing procedure, a second opinion is possible. We assess your situation independently, without a transfer of the file. Request a second opinion.
Method: one dedicated lawyer, from the first meeting to completion
At Simmelink, a dedicated lawyer works on your file, supported by specialized legal experts who handle the substantive preparation. The lawyer who assists you also knows your case at the hearing. No internal referrals, no changes halfway through.
Should your personal circumstances change following a previous arrangement, you can also rely on us for the revision of alimony or the parenting plan, either through consultation or through the court. It is not necessary to have been a client of ours previously.
The team at Simmelink Lawyers
At Simmelink, a specialized team of lawyers, legal experts, and a legal secretariat works exclusively within family law, international family law, inheritance law, and name law. Your file is handled by a dedicated lawyer, supported by specialized legal experts who handle the substantive preparation. You have one point of contact – from the first meeting to completion.

Simmelink brought clarity to an emotionally charged estate and meticulously handled the legal aspects.
As an entrepreneur with assets in multiple countries, I needed a firm that truly understands international separations. In-depth knowledge, quick responses, and always thinking three steps ahead.
When my divorce also involved the visitation schedule and the parenting plan, I needed someone who looked beyond the legal procedure. Simmelink provided a long-term overview that I could no longer see for myself.
